Kathleen Hanley is a Director at Bully Pulpit International (BPI), specializing in insights and strategy for campaigns, corporations, and causes.
Before joining BPI, Kathleen worked as a strategist and pollster across the political and advocacy world, focusing on crafting messaging that reaches and resonates with voters in red and purple states. Her work has helped to elect Democrats in competitive races at the local, state, and national level and to pass ballot initiatives that expand Medicaid, raise the minimum wage, protect reproductive rights, and advance environmental protections.
More recently, Kathleen led audience insights for a variety of brands across the tech, entertainment, and sports industries. She is an expert in mixed methodology and rapid-response research, from longitudinal audience tracking to product positioning and creative testing.
As a leader on BPI’s Messaging & Measurement team, Kathleen advises some of today’s most consequential clients shaping society, policy, and culture. In her role, she manages message development and reputation tracking for America’s largest healthcare organization. She also works with leading consumer brands to drive issue messaging and shape public perceptions.
Originally from the Northern California wine country, Kathleen is a proud graduate of the University of Southern California (Fight On!), where she received a master’s degree in public policy and bachelor’s degrees in political science and communication. She is based in Los Angeles.
