Nick Martin
Senior Director
Nick Martin is a Senior Director at Bully Pulpit International (BPI), helping clients develop thoughtful campaigns to address a variety of challenging public relations and policy issues. Nick brings fifteen years of combined experience working in Democratic politics, in-house corporate communications, and public relations.
Nick was most recently a Senior Vice President at BCW Global, where he supported some of the firm’s leading clients, including Bank of America and Johnson & Johnson. He led teams that advanced clients’ strategic communications objectives, focusing on ESG, equity and inclusion, and talent retention and recruitment.
Nick spent nearly a decade working in local government for the City of Boston. A veteran of two mayoral administrations, he held a variety of communications leadership roles, including Chief Communications Officer for Mayor Marty Walsh during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before serving in this cabinet-level position, he was the Communications Director for the city’s economic development agency, where he was part of the leadership team that re-envisioned the agency’s identity and brand to build greater trust with residents. Nick was also the Communications Director for the Boston Public Health Commission, where his team developed public awareness campaigns focused on violence prevention and healthy living, in addition to supporting outreach to survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Between stints in local government, Nick was the Director of Public Affairs and Communications for The Coca-Cola Company and franchise bottler Coke Northeast from 2016 to 2020. He managed the company’s legislative agenda across seven states in the Northeast and led internal and external communications for the bottler. He launched Coke Northeast’s diversity, equity, and inclusion steering committee, which provided coaching and development to the company’s senior leadership.
Nick graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Government. He lives in Boston with his wife Lyndsey and their dog Stanley.
