Lisa Abrego

Lisa Abrego is a Senior Director at Bully Pulpit International (BPI), bringing over a decade of high-stakes communications leadership to the client services team. She specializes in helping clients navigate high-stakes moments with strategic clarity, whether managing a breaking crisis, shaping reputation narratives, or connecting with diverse global audiences.

Prior to BPI, Lisa led communications at World Central Kitchen, managing a global team through major humanitarian crises including the Ukraine response and global pandemic. She coordinated across operations, fundraising, and media while serving as a strategic advisor to Chef José Andrés and WCK leadership during some of the organization’s most visible and challenging moments. She also led communications for high-profile projects, including the release of the Ron Howard-directed documentary We Feed People and the publication of the New York Times bestselling and James Beard Award-winning World Central Kitchen: Feeding Humanity, Feeding Hope cookbook.

Lisa’s foundation in strategic communications was built at leading agencies including Edelman and Artemis Ward, where she developed expertise in crisis communications, strategic messaging, and integrated campaigns for clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to mission-driven organizations. She has also provided strategic counsel and communications leadership to creative businesses in the DC area.

Originally from El Salvador and now based in Washington, DC, Lisa brings a global perspective to her work and is passionate about cross-cultural communication. She graduated from Purdue University with degrees in Political Science and Communications and minors in Italian and Art and Design. Outside of work, she enjoys road cycling, salsa dancing, cooking, and bringing people together around good food and conversation.
