Kim Axelrod

Partner & Chief Operating Officer

Kim Axelrod is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer at Bully Pulpit International (BPI), based in Washington, D.C. As COO, Kim drives operational excellence throughout every aspect of the business, enabling BPI to efficiently execute on its strategic priorities with an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction and an elevated employee experience. Since 2021, she has overseen global operations including key internal functions such as Resourcing & Staff Deployment, M&A Integration, Internal Communications & Culture, HR, and Infrastructure (IT, security, compliance and facilities).

Prior to joining BPI, Kim served as EVP and COO of Burson’s (then BCW Global) Washington, D.C. office, where she managed the market P&L, talent development and resourcing, as well as operational integration and internal comms across the firms’ lobbying, research, and creative divisions in DC. Concurrently, as North America Client Leader for Bank of America, she led Burson’s full portfolio of work for the bank, overseeing a 150+ person team across U.S. and international markets to advance corporate reputation and product awareness across all lines of business. During her tenure at Burson, Kim also launched initiatives to drive growth and best practices for top clients (Client Center of Excellence), led a global employee culture program (Burson Promise), and managed operations for the grassroots division, Direct Impact.

Earlier in her career, Kim held corporate communications roles at Visa in San Francisco, joining just before the company’s 2008 IPO and instrumental in its subsequent global rollout, and later at social commerce leader LivingSocial in Washington, D.C. Originally from Teaneck, NJ, Kim graduated The University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and lives in Arlington, VA, with her husband and two daughters.
