Elizabeth E. Alexander is a Partner at Bully Pulpit International (BPI), where she leads the agency’s litigation communications, oversight, and regulatory risk offering. Armed with experience at the highest levels of the public and private sectors, Elizabeth brings a rare blend of legal acumen and communications expertise to guide clients through complex, highly scrutinized situations.
A trusted advisor to top leaders and officials, Elizabeth has worked across broad sectors of the economy to steer communication strategies that meaningfully connect with key audiences and stakeholders.
Earlier in her career she served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices in Washington, DC, and the Eastern District of Virginia, as well as a senior communications strategist on Capitol Hill and in both the Biden and Obama administrations. In the private sector, she was a senior member of FTI Consulting’s Litigation Communications and Public Affairs practices, where she advised C-suite executives and legal teams on communications strategies related to complex litigation, global government investigations, regulatory oversight, and business transformations.
Elizabeth holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. She is a member of the Maryland Bar Association and a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Throughout her career, she has held various senior-level, public-facing communications roles, including Deputy Assistant to the President and Communications Director for First Lady Jill Biden, Press Secretary for then-Vice President Joe Biden, Communications Director for then-Senator Biden, Communications Director for then-Congressman Adam Schiff, Press Secretary for the UN Foundation, Press Secretary for then-Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe, and Deputy Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer. Raised in Texas, she now resides in Bethesda, Maryland.
