Bully Pulpit International names Elizabeth E. Alexander as Partner to lead new offering in litigation communications, oversight, and regulatory risk
March 2, 2026
Bully Pulpit International (BPI) today welcomes Elizabeth E. Alexander, a veteran communications strategist and attorney, as a Partner to lead BPI’s new specialized offering in litigation communications, oversight, and regulatory risk. Armed with experience at the highest levels of the public and private sectors, Elizabeth brings a rare blend of legal acumen and communications expertise to guide clients through complex, highly scrutinized situations.
“The dual threat of litigation and regulatory oversight is shaping every industry, and increasingly these challenges are won or lost in the court of public opinion. Elizabeth has the unique combination of legal and communications skills to help organizations lead during their most critical moments,” said BPI CEO Andrew Bleeker.
Elizabeth joins BPI with more than 20 years of experience navigating high-stakes communications, legal, and regulatory challenges. She previously served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices in Washington, DC, and the Eastern District of Virginia, as well as a senior communications strategist on Capitol Hill and in both the Biden and Obama administrations. In the private sector, she was a senior member of FTI Consulting’s Litigation Communications and Public Affairs practices, where she advised C-suite executives and legal teams on communications strategies related to complex litigation, global government investigations, regulatory oversight, and business transformations.
Litigation is now a market-shaping force in an era of constant legal, regulatory, and geopolitical change. Regardless of a legal ruling or regulatory action, the real outcomes for companies are often decided by how the clips play on social media. For example, data from BPI’s ChangeOS reveals that 13 million people watched clips of a recent Senate hearing on social media — nearly 30x the reach of traditional news coverage, and more than 100x the audience that watched the proceedings live. The companies that prevail in these make-or-break moments are those that keep their communications and legal strategies aligned.
“BPI merges deep expertise at the intersection of government and business, with next-generation technology, to drive strategy. This gives clients a real edge in shaping narratives, countering misinformation, and protecting their brands,” said new BPI partner, Elizabeth Alexander. “Success demands bridging legal and communications strategies. I look forward to leading this new offering at BPI and helping clients navigate the combined pressures of legal, regulatory, and public scrutiny.”
Built for a constantly evolving media environment, where a legal ruling is often secondary to the public narrative that precedes it, BPI’s approach treats these high-stakes moments as proactive campaigns to be won. With Elizabeth’s leadership and BPI’s award-winning public affairs expertise, this new offering will help organizations define their own narrative in the fractured channels where public and regulatory opinions are truly formed.
Elizabeth holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. She is a member of the Maryland Bar Association and a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Throughout her career, she has held various senior-level, public-facing communications roles, including Deputy Assistant to the President and Communications Director for First Lady Jill Biden, Press Secretary for then-Vice President Joe Biden, Communications Director for then-Senator Biden, Communications Director for then-Congressman Adam Schiff, Press Secretary for the UN Foundation, Press Secretary for then-Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe, and Deputy Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer.
The news of Elizabeth’s appointment comes as BPI’s leadership team also expands across the Atlantic; Jo-ann Robertson, Ketchum’s former CEO of global markets, begins her role as President of Europe in the agency’s London office this week.
