Scott Zumwalt is a Partner at Bully Pulpit International (BPI), where he leads comprehensive communications and marketing strategies for several of BPI's major client engagements.

Scott has nearly two decades of experience in marketing and digital strategy for Fortune 500 corporations, causes, and campaigns. Since joining BPI in 2013, he has consulted for some of the top companies in America, leading strategic initiatives to bolster thought leadership, social responsibility efforts, corporate reputation, and public affairs campaigns. Scott has also managed BPI’s work on four winning U.S. Senate races and two successful statewide ballot initiatives. In 2017, he was recognized on the American Association of Political Consultants' "40 Under 40" list.

As one of the leading digital innovators in the LGBTQ rights movement, Scott was the Chief Digital Strategist who helped launch and grow the award-winning It Gets Better Project. He has also consulted for the Human Rights Campaign, helping lead digital marketing strategy for 10 years. Since 2014, Scott has served on the campaign board of the Victory Fund, which helps elect openly LGBTQ people to public office.

Scott previously worked for Blue State Digital and served as the New Media Director for Kay Hagan’s successful U.S. Senate campaign in North Carolina. He was also a digital aide on Hillary Clinton’s first presidential campaign and for former Gov. Tom Vilsack.

Scott holds an M.B.A. with honors from Columbia Business School and graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Political Economy. He also holds a certificate in web design and development from Boston University.

Scott lives in Washington, D.C., with his husband, Mitchell. When not working, he can be found trying to get his dog, Louis, to walk through the streets of Logan Circle while listening to a Yankees game or podcast.
